Madrid City Info Madrid Hotels

Madrid is the largest city in Spain and is also the capital of Spain. The general aspect of a Madrid holiday is modern with boulevards and fashionable shopping areas in combination with charming streets. The Madrid Map includes the huge Royal Palace of Madrid, the Buen Retiree Park, the Spanish National Library, the national archives and a renovated opera house as chief landmarks. Any Madrid travel guide will inform tourists about the three superb art museums which are essential attractions on any tour of Madrid. The Prado Museum is home to some of the finest art collections in the world. The Queen Sofía Museum of modern art and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum hold a place of their own on the Madrid Map.

Maraton Madrid is characterized by intense cultural and artistic activity and a very lively nightlife. Nearly all of the most famous tourist areas are located in Central Madrid. Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, Palacio Real and Plaza de Colón are some of the hotspots. Continental climate is predominant in Madrid mainly dry and quite extreme at times with winters witnessing frequent rain. Spring is definitely the best time to visit and enjoy a Madrid holiday specially months of April and May. Madrid is also noted for its nightlife and discotheques. Night freaks will find Madrid a paradise every night of the week. Visitors must keep in mind the late dining hours; Restaurantes Madrid do not even open until eight or nine o'clock. Many night establishments are open until the early morning hours.
