Lanzarote has a coherence and beauty which combine to make the island a cultural and tourist centre. UNESCO has even described the island a World Biosphere Reserve in 1993. Lanzarote is a windy place, especially in July when it is strong and consistent. Lanzarote Spain has an attraction in the form of Timanfaya National Park which is a volcanic landscape. It is said that the landscape has not changed since the time it erupted in the 1730’s and covers over a quarter of the island’s surface. Another major attarction is Montañas del Fuego known as the Mountains of Fire and is located within the park. There is a restaurant as well which provides panoramic views of the park. One can witness the permanent display and audio-visual presentations at the Timanfaya National Park Visitors' Centre. These presentations give an insight to the origin of the island, and the formation of the park due to the volcanic activity. |
